Using the data
Read identity, prices and corporate actions correctly.
Identify an instrument
Use id to call this API. Use instrument.id and instrument.admin together to identify the instrument on Canton: the instrument ID alone is not globally unique.
underlying describes the stock or ETF, not the token. A ticker, a logo or a backing asset’s address cannot identify an Edel Stock.
A published asset is not a venue listing. Check instruments and availability, then confirm the instrument before integrating.
Read the prices
The API publishes two of the three values on Pricing and market value. It does not publish a venue price, which comes from buyers, sellers and available liquidity.
Show generatedAt beside any price you display, and follow the guidance for closed reference markets.
prices.implied by multiplier.value: the multiplier is already applied.| Field | What it is | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
prices.underlying | The reference price: the midpoint of the stock or ETF’s bid and ask, per share. | A token price. |
prices.implied | The implied token value: the indicative value of one token. | An executable quote or an observed Canton exchange price. |
generatedAt | When the upstream price was generated. | The response time, or when metadata or the multiplier changed. |
Keep decimals exact
Prices, multipliers and rates are decimal strings, so their full precision survives transport. Keep them as strings or use a decimal library. Converting them to floating-point numbers can lose precision.
Read corporate actions
multiplier: null: unverified, not unchanged. Every record is currently null, because the source data does not tie an action to a multiplier change.- Linking events: never match an action to a multiplier change by date or nearest timestamp.
processDate: a source processing date, not the dividend receipt date or the moment a multiplier changes.- Event identity: records have no event ID. Two records can share an asset, date and type and still be distinct, so do not deduplicate them.
cash_dividend: an event record, not a holder payment. Dividends accrue through exposure. See how an event reaches exposure.
What the API does not include
The API does not provide exchange prices, executable quotes, price history, pending multipliers, supply or reserve reporting, or transaction submission. Minting and redemption belong to the separate, planned primary-market API.
