Edel Markets

Read the terminal

Navigate prices, depth, charts, order entry and account activity in one workspace.

Select and follow a market

Open the market selector from the active market. Search by symbol or asset name, use the category filters, and switch the availability filter when you need to inspect a restricted market. Categories help navigation; the current catalog determines which contracts are listed.

Use the star to add a market to favorites, then select it from the favorites bar. When switching markets, recheck the symbol, size unit, leverage, and order draft before submitting. An order with an unresolved outcome can temporarily lock market switching until it is resolved.

All Edel perpetual markets have a 24/7 trading schedule. Operational status and fresh market data still determine whether an action is currently available.

Press Command–K on macOS or Control–K on other keyboards to open Search Assets. Use the results, recent markets and favorites to navigate, then verify the active symbol in the ticket. Keyboard navigation prepares a selection; it never places an order.

Distinguish last, index, and mark

The price label matters. A market with no trades may display an available Index or Mark in place of Last, and may have no last-trade 24-hour change. A dash means unavailable, not zero.

PriceMeaning
LastThe latest executed trade price. It describes an execution, not a guaranteed price for the next trade.
IndexThe reference price for the underlying market. Index candles are distinct from trades executed on Edel.
MarkThe price used in the reported position valuation and risk calculations. It can differ from Last and Index.

Move between the main panels

The market header shows prices, 24-hour activity, open interest, and funding information where available. Charts provide historical and live price context. Order Book and Trades show resting liquidity and recent executions.

The order ticket prepares the next action and its risk preview. The lower account tabs contain Balances, Positions, Open Orders, Fills, Order History, Position History, and Transfers. Use Portfolio for an account-wide review.

Keep the market connection and private account status in view. Public data can continue working while private account updates require recovery.

Data behind each panel

Each panel answers a different question and has its own data source. Public market channels do not require account credentials. Account channels require an authenticated session and a scoped realtime ticket, so public prices can keep updating while an account connection needs attention.

REST loads the initial state and submits commands. WebSockets carry subsequent updates where the channel supplies the required fields. Missing fields remain unavailable. Integrators can use the channel catalogue to check coverage and access requirements.

Understand a restricted or stale screen

Online describes the data connection; it is not a guarantee that every order is permitted. A market can separately be open, reduce-only, cancel-only, paused, or halted. The ticket explains the current restriction.

Reconnecting and stale states mean that displayed values may be from an earlier snapshot. Order submission can pause while fresh market and account data are restored. A scheduled time or a countdown does not prove that a market has reopened.

Cancellation may still be available while new trading is restricted. Confirm the cancellation response and remaining order state. Follow troubleshooting for unresolved states.

Set number and display preferences

Open Settings to choose Number Formatting. Available examples include 1,234.56, 1.234,56, 1234,56, and 1 234,56. Check the selected convention before entering or interpreting amounts.

Set Order Book Size on Click controls whether choosing a book level also fills the order size. Animate Order Book controls visual activity indicators. Hide PNL masks PNL in supported views; it does not change account values or erase history. Display Verbose Errors exposes more error detail for troubleshooting.

Reset preferences restores display defaults. Preferences do not change market precision, risk limits, fees, or order execution rules.

Read bids, asks, and depth

Bids are resting buy interest and asks are resting sell interest. The best bid is the highest buy price; the best ask is the lowest sell price. Their difference is the spread. Size describes liquidity at a level, while cumulative depth adds levels together.

Book rows aggregate orders by price. Changing the displayed price grouping combines levels for readability; it does not alter the market’s permitted order precision. Displayed liquidity can change before your order reaches it. A large market order can execute across several levels.

Use the order preview to check estimated execution and slippage for your actual size.

The matching engine uses price-time priority: eligible sells at lower prices are considered before higher asks, and eligible buys at higher prices before lower bids. At one price, the venue’s assigned sequence determines time priority. Sending an instruction earlier from your device does not establish its place in the venue’s sequence. Aggregated book size also does not reveal an individual order’s queue position.

For example, if two eligible sell orders rest at the same price, the earlier-sequenced one is considered first; an eligible sell at a better price is considered before either. This explains why visible depth can support a price estimate without guaranteeing your execution.

Choose the view and use a price level

Use the panel controls to switch between Book and Trades, or choose Tab, Stacked, or Large layout where offered. Adjust the price grouping to inspect fine or broader depth.

Selecting a book level fills a limit-order draft with the selected price and direction. If Set Order Book Size on Click is enabled in Settings, it also fills size. Review every field afterward: selecting a level is preparation, not order submission.

The order ticket’s Mid action uses the current midpoint as a limit price. A midpoint can lie between resting levels and does not guarantee a fill.

Read recent executions

Trades shows recent public executions with their time, price, and size. This is venue activity across participants. Your own executions appear in the private Fills tab.

A last trade reports what already executed. It does not show all resting interest and cannot promise the price of a new market order. Use both the book and the risk preview when reviewing size.

An online market can display Waiting for live trades when no trades have arrived. That is different from a disconnected or resynchronizing feed.

Wait for a complete book after reconnect

The terminal rebuilds book state from snapshots and subsequent updates. If updates are missing or the connection changes, it resynchronizes and marks the view accordingly. Previously displayed depth should not be treated as current during that interval.

No resting bids or asks is a valid empty-book state only when the feed is online. Connecting, disconnected, and resynchronizing messages describe data availability instead. A market order may not fill if sufficient opposite-side liquidity is unavailable.

Check freshness by panel

Read market connection, account readiness and the selected view’s freshness separately. Public prices can continue while private authentication expires. A history tab can finish loading while current account state is still incomplete.

The chart, order book and preview serve different purposes: a chart illustrates a price series; the book shows resting liquidity; preview estimates the proposed order against current service state. None guarantees the later execution price. See Charts and Positions.
